Bahrain: 18 people arrested in cases of smuggling domestic workers and violating residency conditions

The Department of Combating Human Trafficking and Protection of Public Morals at the General Department of Investigation and Criminal Evidence arrested an Asian (44 years old), and 17 women of African nationality, for smuggling domestic workers and violating residency conditions.

The administration explained that as soon as information was received in this regard, search and investigation operations were initiated, which resulted in the identification and arrest of the aforementioned, adding that the necessary legal measures are being taken, in preparation for referring the arrested to the Public Prosecution.

The Department for Combating Human Trafficking and Protection of Public Morals indicated that any cases or complaints related to combating these crimes can be reported to the hotline 555 around the clock, in order to activate the community partnership and to ensure a speedy response and take the necessary legal measures.
