The head of the Muharraq Governorate Prosecution stated that the Public Prosecution received two reports from the Anti-Narcotics Department that customs officers at Bahrain International Airport were able to seize two attempts to smuggle a narcotic, weighing ten kilograms, by hiding it in hidden places in travel bags to prevent its detection, with the intention of promoting and trading in the country.

The Public Prosecution began the investigation as soon as it was notified of the two reports and interrogated the accused in both of them and ordered their pretrial detention pending the investigation, and delegated the specialized experts to examine the seizures. Investigations are still continuing by hearing witnesses of the incident and receiving final investigations in preparation for bringing the accused and those who prove his involvement in the crime to trial.
