The Information and e-Government Authority and the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence signed a memorandum of understanding on activating the health passport to verify that travelers, citizens and residents in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through the King Fahd Causeway, match the health procedures and requirements in force in the two countries to address the Corona virus (Covid- 19), as this comes in support of national efforts to tackle the Corona virus (Covid-19).

The memorandum of understanding aims to ensure the implementation of the preventive and control measures taken by the two brotherly countries in the context of combating the Corona virus to facilitate movement through the King Fahd Causeway, and to benefit from the technical integration between the “conscious society” applications in the Kingdom of Bahrain and “Tawakulna” in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by linking Health passport data with the passport systems in the two countries to determine the ability of the traveler to enter based on the health requirements of the Corona virus.


The Information and e-Government Authority and the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence confirmed that the linking process will contribute to providing a database of accurate and comprehensive data about all travelers, which will contribute to the speedy completion of travel procedures, saving time and effort for travelers, and enabling the cadres working at King Fahd Causeway to immediately verify all personal data. and health for travelers, in addition to enhancing the level of protection and confidentiality of all data.
