For his part, Sheikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs at the Ministry of Interior confirmed that: The project keeps pace with the requirements of facilitating tourism for the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as keeping pace with the development applicable in other countries Mujawara, noting that the global trend is heading towards (electronic passport), which has been adopted by more than 50 countries Until now, while the electronic passport is still under study in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

He also indicated that the age registered in this system is from 10 years and above, noting that the electronic portal It is linked to the passport system and provides information to the citizen and resident, explaining that this link to the passport aims to facilitate Passenger movement in a smooth and fast way that keeps pace with technological development.

He stressed the flexibility of the law, which comes to facilitate the movement of travelers through 22 electronic gates, 12 of which are dedicated to departure And 10 of them are gates for the arrival of travelers, and all of these gates will be linked to the passport system.
