The Chairman of the Muharraq Municipal Council revealed the official opening date of Muharraq Grand Park, next Wednesday, the first of December, under the patronage and presence of the Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, Eng. Essam Khalaf.

The head of Muharraq Municipal Council, Ghazi Al-Morbati, said: “The park will be opened for the first time to the public after a closure of more than 15 years, and after years of work on reviving it and addressing the stumbling block of development projects.

Pointing out that it is the largest public park in Bahrain, and is located near Bahrain International Airport, and is a suitable recreational place for all citizens and residents, praising at the same time all the efforts of the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning to rehabilitate and open the park.

Al-Morbati stressed the previous council’s decision of the importance of imposing a nominal fee for entering the park, up to 300 fils per person; With the aim of sustaining the park's resources, maintenance and development costs, and maintaining its facilities.
