The Bahraini government revealed that it has begun restructuring the governmental internal control in all ministries and government agencies, to ensure the unification of the audit procedures followed in those agencies in a manner that is commensurate with the best international standards and practices in the field of internal auditing.

In this context, it stated that it seeks to develop a general framework for internal audit work in government agencies by defining the charters that the internal audit and audit units must abide by, proposing organizational structures that are commensurate with the nature and privacy of these entities, and clarifying the mechanism for submitting their reports, as well as defining their tasks and functional responsibilities, Especially job descriptions for the jobs listed on the organizational structure in line with international best practices in this field.

It also stated that it is working on issuing a guide to internal auditing for government agencies and circulating it to all ministries and government agencies, as it represents the primary reference for the staff of the internal audit and audit units when performing their work, and unifies the audit procedures followed at the government level.
