Based on the recommendation of the National Medical Team to tackle the Corona virus, the Civil Aviation Affairs announced that entry procedures for the Kingdom of Bahrain will be updated through Bahrain International Airport starting on Sunday, December 19, 2021, as a precautionary measure in light of the global spread of the new mutant (Omicron) and in order to preserve the health and safety of citizens. and residents.

The update of entry procedures to the Kingdom of Bahrain included replacing the red list system, with the obligation to present all travelers coming to the Kingdom of Bahrain aged 6 years and above an approved PCR examination certificate bearing a QR code before boarding the plane, within 48 days. An hour from the time of departure, with the continuation of the arrival check, the fifth day check and the tenth day check on all travelers coming to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
