The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai has launched a new service to proactively renew the passport of citizens, before it expires, while delivering it to the beneficiary at his residence.

The director general of the administration, Lieutenant-General Mohamed Ahmed Al-Marri, said in press statements yesterday that the new service coincides with the country's celebrations of its 50th National Day, and is applied for the first time, with the aim of making citizens happy and facilitating them, by renewing their passports automatically six months before its expiry date.

He indicated that the administration has allocated a team to carry out this task, by monitoring the passports that are about to expire through the smart system, and communicating with the beneficiaries of the service to verify their residence addresses to deliver the passport and hand it over.

Al-Marri stressed that the administration is working on devising qualitative programs and initiatives that are in the interest of citizens and residents alike, within the framework of government directions and the state's strategy aimed at achieving the highest levels of happiness and satisfaction for customers.
