Private establishments determine the weekly holiday according to their working conditions

Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, announced that private establishments in the country determine the weekly holiday, according to the working conditions of each facility, within the framework of changing the weekly work system, to comply with the new system adopted by the federal government, which begins its application on the first of next January

His Excellency the Minister stated, "Federal Decree Law No. 33 of 2021, issued by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, regarding the regulation of labor relations, finally, allowed the employer to increase the weekly rest days, according to the establishment's discretion." The amendments aimed to enhance an attractive and stable work environment for workers in the private sector.

He added that the law, with its amendments, whose provisions will take effect on the second of next February, gave more flexibility to employers, to facilitate their work, in addition to taking care of the worker, as it introduced a number of leave for the worker, including mourning leave ranging from three to five days, according to the degree of the deceased’s relatives.
