The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development announced the addition of 11 new commercial activities to the activities of the freelance license, which allows natural individuals, citizens, residents and non-residents in the UAE, to apply for it, bringing the total number of activities listed under this license to 62 commercial activities, all of which can be practiced from the residence or Any other location that is authorized, subject to the general provisions of the individual institution

The new activities added by the department included “organizing accounting records and books, analyzing accounting and auditing systems, Shariah auditing consultations for the transactions of Islamic financial institutions, consulting in the fields of taxation, electronic networks, electronic security, innovation, artificial intelligence, information technology network services, design and programming of electronic chips, design of database systems and management services. electronic risk.

His Excellency Rashid Abdul Karim Al Balushi, Undersecretary of the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi, stressed the importance of the free professions license in activating the role of citizens and non-citizens to activate their contribution to the business sector at the level of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, which would stimulate the business and investment environment in Abu Dhabi by creating free job opportunities according to technical specializations Specific are available to a wide segment of citizens and residents in the country, especially those with experience and professional specializations needed by the labor market in Abu Dhabi.

He explained that expanding the scope of liberal professions activities by adding 11 new commercial activities reflects the keenness of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development to take advantage of this license in achieving positive results on the services sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, since its activities in general focus on the technical services and consultancy sector. The initiative is to issue 1784 free professions licenses.

His Excellency the Undersecretary of the Department indicated that the license to practice liberal professions activities has many positive economic effects, including benefiting from the various available experiences that are sometimes unemployed or outside working hours for working technical expertise, and not having to designate all the specializations whose services are sometimes needed And the possibility of providing the service remotely and at different times around the clock, contributing to addressing the problem of unemployment, and improving the income of different segments of society such as retirees, housewives, students and other citizens and non-citizens.

The regulation of the free professions licensing decision defines the controls for work under it and the general requirements for this decision, as it requires the license applicant to prove the specialization in the activity required to be licensed through scientific certificates in the field or certificates of experience in the practice of work or approved achievements in the specialized field related to the activity. This permit for non-citizens is the residence of the owner of the permit and his family and does not give him the authority to request labor for the permit
