Informed sources at the Ministry of Interior and the Public Authority for Manpower revealed that a decision was issued to stop issuing work permits to Egyptian workers, while setting new controls for granting them
The sources explained that the most prominent reason for the suspension was receiving complaints from entities that employ Egyptian workers, as it was confirmed that some of the concerned Egyptian authorities forced them to pay insurance for each worker for the benefit of non-Kuwait Insurance Company.
The sources added that coordination had been made between both the “Manpower Forces” and the “Interior Ministry” to establish new and strict controls on the recruitment of Egyptian workers, with priority given to issuing permits to holders of advanced degrees, in accordance with the specializations required for the Kuwaiti labor market.
The Ministry of Interior arrests a number of violators of the residency law:
The Ministry of Interior announced that violators of the residency law were received during the morning and evening periods, to facilitate the process of their leaving the country, or correcting their situation.
It reported that the number of violators who were deported from the country since the beginning of the deadline announced by the Ministry of Interior on March 17 of last year reached 1,807, while the number of those whose statuses were modified reached 4,565 expatriates, Holders of Articles 20 and 18, in addition to those who entered the country on visitor visas Family or commercial.
The sources indicated that a number of violators’ embassies, including the embassies of (Egypt, Syria, India, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Ethiopia), submitted data to the Ministry of Interior regarding the numbers of violators among its nationals who lost their passports or were in the possession of their sponsors, in order to obtain travel documents for them ,So they can leave the country, indicating that their number reached 2,801.
Deadline for receiving violators:
The sources stated that the Ministry will receive violators in two periods, the first in the morning in all governorates during official working hours, and those wishing to amend their status will be received by reviewing the Residency Affairs Department in the governorate to which they belong.
She added that the evening period begins with receiving violators who wish to leave the country and who have new passports or travel documents to register them in the computer system of the Residence Affairs Departments in Mubarak Al-Kabeer and Farwaniya governorates, starting from three in the afternoon until eight in the evening, Pointing out that the violators who wish to leave carry valid passports and are registered in the ministry’s systems, so there is no need to review them in any system.
