The Public Prosecution of the State, through a tweet published today on its accounts on social media, clarified the penalty for those who deliberately damage the devices of water and electricity utilities, if this results in the disruption of the facility.

The Public Prosecution indicated that, according to Article 301 of the Federal Penal Code, whoever intentionally breaks or damages machines, pipes, or devices of a water, electricity, gas, petroleum, or other utility, shall be punished with imprisonment for a period not exceeding ten years. Public utilities if that would disrupt the facility.
