The Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi launched the "Baadr" application for smartphones as part of the "Sustainable Universities Initiative", in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Polymer Company "Borouge", in the framework of the long-term partnership between the two parties. The application aims to encourage community members, both citizens and residents, to participate in groups and carry out a number of environmental activities that contribute to protecting the environment in Abu Dhabi.

The application is available for Apple and Android devices, where it can be downloaded for free from the Apple Store and Google Play. The Badir application is the first of its kind in the UAE in terms of providing various incentives to participants in recognition of their undertaking one of 20 diverse environmental missions. These tasks aim to contribute to reducing carbon emissions, reducing food waste and single-use consumer products, as well as encouraging community members to rationalize the use of energy and adopt the method of reusing and recycling products.
