A school bus driver was able to evacuate students in time with the help of passers-by, after the school bus suddenly caught fire and burned completely on Al Khan Street in the Emirate of Sharjah while the students were returning to their homes.
A source in the Civil Defense Department in Sharjah said that the Operations Room received a report this afternoon that a school bus had been set on fire on Al-Khan Street, with a number of students inside، as firefighting vehicles and ambulances were sent to the site of the fire, it was found that the bus driver was able to cleverly and expertly evacuate the students from the bus with the help of passers-by, as neither the students nor the driver were injured as a result of the fire.
The source explained that the experience gained by the bus driver through the training courses and evacuation operations he received from the Sharjah Civil Defense Department greatly contributed to rescuing the students and successfully evacuating the bus, pointing out that the bus was completely burnt without the fire spreading to other vehicles parked on the road .
He pointed out that the fire was brought under control and the file was referred to the competent authorities to conduct the necessary investigation to find out the causes of the fire, and another bus was brought in and the students were transported to their homes safely and securely.
