During the Security and Safety Exhibition and Conference "Intersec", the General Directorate of Traffic of Dubai Police presented the "Pedestrian Crossing Monitoring Device" radar, which specializes in monitoring and controlling vehicles that do not commit to giving priority to pedestrians at the sites designated for their crossing, and also monitors other violations, including failure to wear a seat belt, and concern about Driving using the phone or for various reasons.

The administration stated that the device operates on a solar energy system, and is equipped with sensors that can recognize pedestrians crossing movement on both sides of the road, and monitors vehicles by videotaping them to prove the condition, and also issues a red light signal to warn vehicle drivers of the need to stop, and to give priority to pedestrians to cross. The driver’s failure to stop at the crossing The device depicts the vehicle, and a traffic violation is issued against the driver for not giving priority to pedestrians in the places designated for their crossing. Dubai Police were keen to develop this device to enhance the safety of road users from pedestrians and to oblige the driver to abide by traffic etiquette, especially those related to respecting pedestrians and giving them priority to cross from the places designated for them, as part of its keenness to reduce the rate of injuries and deaths in traffic accidents.
