His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, may God protect him, in his capacity as Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai, has approved a package of legislation aimed at formulating the legal framework for Dubai Chambers and forming their boards of directors to enable them to achieve their strategic objectives of strengthening Dubai's position as an economic center International, and providing means of support for all components of the economic system by protecting the interests of the business community in the emirate and continuing to develop the business environment.

The legislative package included a decree establishing "Dubai Chambers" to replace the "Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry", a decree appointing His Excellency Juma Al Majid as its honorary president, and decrees forming the Board of Directors of "Dubai Chambers" headed by His Excellency Abdulaziz Abdullah Al Ghurair, the Board of Directors of the "Dubai Chamber of Commerce", and the Council of The management of the "Dubai Chamber of World Trade" headed by Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, and the board of directors of the "Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy" headed by His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama.

The decrees reflect the unique economic vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, as the creation of three specialized rooms is an unprecedented approach to meet the requirements of the current and future stage, especially in light of the emergence of emerging sectors and economic patterns that require a fundamental change in the mechanism of work of chambers of commerce in its traditional sense.
The legislative package establishes a clear vision for Dubai Chambers for the coming years by adding more roles and powers that qualify the chambers to carry out the tasks entrusted to them in the trade sector, in addition to enhancing their active presence in the emerging sectors, which include the digital economy and global trade, because of their increasing importance at the current stage.
