The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has announced the introduction of a new weekend bus route, W20, starting from Friday, February 9, to cater to the needs of bus commuters, particularly those heading to Al Mamzar beach.
This route will operate on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., offering departures every half hour and connecting Stadium Metro Station with Al Mamzar Beach. Alongside this addition, RTA has planned various enhancements to existing public bus routes aimed at improving the daily transportation experience for passengers and ensuring smoother and more comfortable journeys throughout the emirate. These improvements are expected to streamline bus mobility and reduce travel times significantly.
As part of these enhancements, Route 11B will be renamed Route 11 to enhance the overall bus user experience. Additionally, Routes 16A and 16B will undergo rerouting and renaming, becoming Routes 16 and 25, respectively. Route 16 will commence from Al Rashdiya Bus Station and proceed to Al Awir, while Route 25 will operate between Gold Souq Bus Station and Al Rashdiya.
In order to improve the everyday travel experience, more changes will be made to different bus routes. Dubai Festival City and the Al Garhoud area will be included in the extension of Route F62, while the Mohammed bin Rashid Library will be served by the elongation of Route C04. The Global Village may be reached directly and without interruption by using routes 103 or 106 from the main stations.
Furthermore, in order to reach Sharjah, Route E303 will be redirected via Al Ittihad Street. At the same time, routes 64A, 16B, and 16A will no longer be in operation. To further improve travel times for riders, the RTA Public Transport Agency will implement improvements to 13 bus lines. These routes include 5, 7, 62, 81, 110, C04, C09, E306, E307A, F12, F15, F26, and SH1. Residents and visitors alike may expect a more efficient and comfortable public transit experience thanks to these upgrades.
