Dubai has figured out the procedure for obtaining a Sanad card in order to benefit from discounts on transportation.
Where can I get a Sanad card?
It was mentioned by Al Meer that in order for tourists to take advantage of the fifty percent reduction on their fare, they need to have a Sanad card.
According to the website of the Community Development Authority (CDA), the duration of a tourist's stay is taken into consideration when determining whether or not their Sanad card is valid.
The requirements for obtaining a Sanad card include a recent photograph, an electronic copy of the visit visa that Dubai has issued, a copy of the applicant's passport, an electronic copy of a medical report or disability card from their home country, and an electronic copy of the visa. The application process can be completed online.
Price reductions for taxi rides in Dubai
According to Abdullah Ibrahim Al Meer, who is serving as the Chief Business Transformation Officer at Dubai Tourism and Culture (DTC), travelers who are visiting Dubai on a PoD can also take advantage of a fifty percent discount on taxi costs throughout the city. He claims that all they (PoD tourists) need to do is submit an application for a Sanad card, a smart card that the Community Development Authority (CDA) issues to PoD residents and visitors.
Earlier this week, the DTC made the initial announcement on the expansion of coverage for the taxi fare discount. In the past, only taxis designed specifically for wheelchair users or taxis devoted to wheelchair users offered lower prices. PoDs, particularly those with disabilities that do not include the use of motor vehicles, are now able to order ordinary taxis using the DTC App and take advantage of the discounted fare.
The Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) is the most prominent taxi operator in Dubai. It was established in 1995. The company currently controls about 44% of the market share and owns a fleet of over 7,000 taxis.
