Over the past decade, both South Asian passports have faced a decline. The Indian passport slipped from the 76th to the 80th position, and the Pakistani passport weakened from the 92nd to the 101st position. Notably, the Pakistani passport was ranked as the fourth-worst globally, trailing behind Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan.
The Henley & Partners Passport Index relies on exclusive data from the International Air Transport Authority (IATA) and cross-checks each passport against all 227 possible travel destinations using publicly available and reliable online sources.
