The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security has made it possible to renew the residence electronically and through its smart application, through six steps.

It begins with registering and creating the digital identity account, or entering the electronic services in case of pre-registration, choosing the service to renew the issuance of a residence permit, submitting the application, reviewing and updating the retrieved data, paying the fees, submitting an application to renew the identity card, delivering the passport to the approved delivery company, and placing the residence sticker on the passport Travel, and delivery of the passport through the approved courier company.

The authority advised customers to ensure the accuracy and validity of the data, including verifying the validity of the ID number and its expiration date in the renewal or replacement request, and ensuring the accuracy and validity of the data entered in the electronic form before paying the fees, to avoid delays in completing the transaction, and to ensure the speedy completion of the transaction on time.

She called on customers to verify the phone number, e-mail, and delivery method included in the electronic form, noting that the data entered are subject to review and audit by the authority.

For its part, the Emirates Digital Government has warned, through its electronic portal, that the UAE grants a grace period of 30 days to legally stay in the UAE after the expiry of the residence visa, and therefore the residence visa must be renewed before the expiry of that period to avoid any fines.

She pointed out that once the person's residence visa in the UAE expires, the sponsor must speed up its renewal for his dependents within the time limit set for the renewal of visas, to avoid any fines or legal consequences.

She indicated that according to the residency fines system in the UAE, the fine for staying in the country after the end of the grace period is 25 dirhams per day, during the first six months (180 days), 50 dirhams per day, during the following six months, and 100 dirhams per day, after a year has passed. and more.

She stated that it should be noted that with the expiration of the visa, the validity of the identity card also expires, and it must be initiated to renew it before applying for the renewal of the residence.
